Regional Guides
Executive networking in Philadelphia: relationships beyond the business lunch
A guide for Philadelphia-area founders, CEOs and senior executives, including the Main Line and South Jersey, on experience-led golf and dinner networking.

The takeaway
Greater Philadelphia's business community is relationship-driven and well connected. WGN does not currently host scheduled Philadelphia events; executives can join existing gatherings and register interest in a future chapter.
A relationship-driven business community
Philadelphia's business community spans healthcare, life sciences, financial and professional services, education and a broad base of privately held companies. Many leaders describe it as a market where reputation and personal introductions carry significant weight.
The surrounding region, from the Main Line and Bucks County to South Jersey, also has a long tradition of private golf clubs, making the course a natural setting for longer conversations among peers.
Choosing the right format
Business lunches and association events are useful but brief. Golf outings and curated dinners give more time for real conversation. When evaluating a group, check who attends, how often it meets and whether it protects members from facing competitors in the same room.
- Look for a regular calendar you can commit to.
- Check whether non-golfers can join social gatherings.
- Ask how the group balances industries.
- Plan one concrete follow-up after every event.
WGN and Philadelphia
WGN's current chapter is based in New Jersey and the New York metro area, with gatherings at private clubs in Northern New Jersey. The organization is building chapters in new markets, and Philadelphia-area executives are welcome to attend current events as guests.
